The WA State Government has given the go-ahead for a liquefied natural gas plant in Mount magnet.
Perth-based Clean Energy Fuels Australia has secured a long-term site lease to develop the plant, which will make up part of the company’s $100 million LNG production hub, set to be developed in the area.
The plant will supply gas to customers in the Midwest region including the local mining sector and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by around 90,000 tons a year. The facility is expected to be operational by mid next year and create 100 jobs during it's construction.
