The Western Australian manufacturing industry is a varied mix of businesses producing: Chemical, Polymer, Fertiliser, Pesticide, Pharmaceutical, Medicinal, Cleaning, Toiletry, Explosives, Adhesive, Paint, Clay brick, Ceramic, Cement, Plaster, Concrete, Alumina, Copper, Silver Lead, Zinc, Gold and Plastics; bottle, pipe, foam, flooring, fiberglass and rubber products.

 

Some of the larger Western Australia manufacturers have large production facilities for alumina production (66% of national product (NP)), gold processing (60% NP), industrial gasses (25% NP), clay brick (24% NP) and explosives (22% NP).

The Resource Industry Training Council (RITC) is a state government funded joint venture between Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) and the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Ltd (APPEA), gathering industry intelligence, on current trends, skills gaps and training needs, which it provides to industry, the State Training Board (STB), Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD), the WA Government. RITC governance is facilitated through the RITC Advisory Board.
