Workforce Priorities

 

 

Laboratory Operations in WA is not technically a sector, but rather a diverse group of technical and scientific occupations which service a broad range of industries including mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, construction, health, defence, environmental management, food & beverages, and agriculture.

The Resources Industry Training Council (RITC) produces 6-monthly updates on identified workforce priorities for this broad sector. The updates examine issues, strategies and actions identified by industry, to guide the development of a skilled workforce to meet the needs of industry in Western Australia.

One of the Service Agreement deliverables, between the Resources Industry Training Council (RITC) and the Western Australian State Training Board, is to; Provide industry intelligence and data on workforce and occupational priorities to inform the:

The Resource Industry Training Council (RITC) is a state government funded joint venture between Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) and the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Ltd (APPEA), gathering industry intelligence, on current trends, skills gaps and training needs, which it provides to industry, the State Training Board (STB), Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD), the WA Government. RITC governance is facilitated through the RITC Advisory Board.
